Police Officer (GPD)
Job Title: Police, City of Galena Police Department The Galena Police Department is currently accepting applications for a second Police Officer. Applicants will start at $28.33 (2080 hours a year, including holiday whether worked or not) One officer will possibly be assigned as a School Resource Officer assigned to the Galena City School District. The Police Officer will work a 2 week on 2 weeks off schedule. (Employee will receive Health, Travel, and Housing Benefits) There is NO state or local residency requirements and the successful applicant can live outside of the state and commute to work. The department provides all uniforms, equipment, and boots. Applicants should submit an application/resume, an F-3 Alaska Police Standards, a copy of their birth certificate, and a copy of two pieces of ID, one with a picture. Applicants must possess or be capable of obtaining an Alaska Driver's License and pass an extensive background investigation, and a medical exam. Further, the applicant must be capable to meet the minimal standards for police as set out in 13AAC85.010 Two weeks on/ Two weeks off 84 Hour week / 911 emergency calls
Requirements: Must be 21 years of age High school Diploma Prior Police experience with current Alaska or out of state certification. Preferred 2 years work experience Valid Alaska Driver’s License Able to pass a criminal background check
