GALENA POLICE DEPARTMENT MISSION

The Mission of the Galena Police Department is to safeguard life and property, preserve the peace, prevent and detect crime, enforce Federal, State and Local Laws, and protect the rights of all citizens. We are committed to working in partnership with the community, allied law enforcement agencies, tribal governments, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve issues that impact public safety for the City of Galena, the Louden Tribe, and the State of Alaska.

GALENA POLICE DEPARTMENT VISION

The Galena Police Department, is committed to development of a comprehensive law enforcement agency that leads as an example in the state for excellence in service for smaller law enforcement agencies by providing the highest quality of police services to the people who live, work and visit our community. This is accomplished through courteous public service, commitment to best practices for community policing and law enforcement service, as well as an unwavering commitment to protecting the community we service.

We will constantly evaluate and improve our efforts to enhance public safety with the goal of improving the quality of life within the City of Galena and the surrounding area, while at the same time maintaining respect for individual rights and human dignity.
